The minor in Latin American Studies at University of the Pacific is an interdisciplinary study of Latin America and Latinx culture, history, politics and social conditions. The program is designed to provide you with language and cultural skills that will deepen your intellectual experience while providing a competitive edge in any profession.

Through core courses, hands-on-experience and participation in lectures and cultural events, you will gain interdisciplinary knowledge, language and cross-cultural skills. Study abroad in Latin America or internships in the U.S. are encouraged and will help you develop real-life connections with Latin American and Latinx communities.

Complete a minimum of 20 units and 5-6 courses
A Pacific minor grade point average of 2.0
If your Spanish proficiency is below a high intermediate level, you may need to complete foundational language courses prior to enrolling in some required courses
